Preparing for Accountability: P4HR Meets with OIG Audit Team

Pilots for HIMS Reform (P4HR) is preparing for a critical meeting tomorrow with the Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General (OIG) audit team currently reviewing the FAA's HIMS Program.

This meeting represents a significant step forward—not just for our organization, but for the thousands of pilots and aviation professionals who have been impacted by a system that, in many cases, operates without sufficient transparency, oversight, or accountability.

What This Meeting Represents

The OIG audit is one of the first meaningful opportunities in years to bring independent federal scrutiny to the HIMS Program. For many, this is long overdue.

Our role in this process is simple but essential: to ensure that real-world experiences, documented patterns, and systemic concerns are clearly presented and understood.

These are not isolated issues—they are recurring themes echoed across hundreds of pilot accounts.

How We Are Preparing

In advance of this meeting, our team has been working diligently to ensure that our presentation is structured, factual, and impactful.

Preparation efforts include:

Our goal is not simply to raise concerns—but to present them in a way that is clear, credible, and actionable.

A Collective Effort

This moment is not about any one individual. It reflects the voices of a growing coalition of aviation professionals—including pilots, air traffic controllers, and medical experts—who believe the current system must evolve.

We approach this meeting with professionalism, respect, and a shared objective: ensuring that aviation medical certification processes are grounded in fairness, transparency, and evidence-based practices.

Looking Ahead

While tomorrow's meeting is an important milestone, it is just one step in a broader process.

We remain committed to working constructively with oversight bodies, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to ensure meaningful, lasting reform.

We will continue to keep our community informed as this process moves forward.
